چکیده
This paper analyzes the corrosion resistance and mechanical microstructural properties of a welded joint ductile cast iron using AISI316L stainless steel as filler material three different heat treatments: preheating at 250 450 ºC post-weld annealing treatment. The results show presence ledeburite interface between weld bead affected zone root pass, along with loss strength ductility when welding coupons are preheated. An does not eliminate leads to massive precipitation chromium carbides areas where dilution is higher. Corrosion rate was lower for annealed coupon, but in that case, increases due carbides.

Biomaterial Studies on AISI 316L Stainless Steel after Magnetoelectropolishing
The polarisation characteristics of the electropolishing process in a magnetic field (MEP – magnetoelectropolishing), in comparison with those obtained under standard/conventional process (EP) conditions, have been obtained. The occurrence of an EP plateau has been observed in view of the optimization of MEP process. Up-to-date stainless steel surface studies always indicated some amount of fre...
متن کاملMicro abrasion-corrosion of AISI 316L stainless steel
In this study, the synergistic effects of abrasion and corrosion on AISI 316L stainless steel have been investigated using a micro-abrasion test rig. A series of results from abrasioncorrosion tests conducted using the micro-abrasion rig are presented. AISI 316L stainless steel has been studied under both pure abrasion and abrasion-corrosion conditions simulated by either distilled water or 3.5...
متن کاملFormation of Surface Nano/Ultrafine Structure using Deep Rolling Process on the AISI 316L Stainless Steel
Austenitic stainless steels (ASSs) have an excellent corrosion resistance but relatively-low hardness and yield strength [1,2], leading to limited usage in applications that high values of hardness and wear resistance is necessary for material surface. Therefore, surface properties such as hardness must be improved using appropriate techniques. Mechanical surface treatments such as ultrasonic s...
متن کاملFatigue Performance of Forged Steel and Ductile Cast Iron Crankshafts
Fatigue is the primary cause of failure of crankshafts in internal combustion engines. The cyclic loading conditions and the stress concentrations in the crank pin fillets are unavoidable, and can result in fatigue failure. The objectives of this study were to compare the fatigue behavior of forged steel and ductile iron crankshafts from a one-cylinder engine as well as to determine if the fati...
متن کاملOptimization of Operating Parameters for Autogenous Welding of AISI 316L Stainless Steel and Steel Using Pulsed Nd: YAG Laser
An attempt made to optimize the operating parameters involved in an autogenous pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding process of similar and dissimilar combinations of butt joint of 2 mm thick 316 L stainless steel and mild steel. Influence of prominent laser welding parameters such as average peak power, defocus position, spot position, and shielding gas were investigated for welded joints considered. T...
